Portuguese businessman based in New Jersey César DePaço
Summit Nutritionals International, Inc., a New Jersey-based company founded by Portuguese businessman and philanthropist César DePaço, made a $100,000 donation on December 20, 2025 to Blood Cancer United in support of the North Jersey Student Visionaries of the Year campaign and Team BE-VALuable for a Cure.
According to a statement from the Washington, D.C.–based health organization, the contribution is intended to “advance the development of better treatments and bring new hope to cancer patients in the state of New Jersey and in other communities across the United States of America” by funding innovative blood cancer research and promoting safer and more effective therapies.
The support provided will also strengthen patient and family assistance, ensuring access to information, education, and guidance throughout the diagnostic process, in selecting the most appropriate treatment, and in accessing the necessary healthcare services, as well as reinforcing advocacy efforts to defend patients’ rights at both state and national legislative levels.
Thanks to this and other contributions, Blood Cancer United continues to drive high-impact initiatives such as the Beat AML program and pediatric oncology projects aimed at structurally transforming standards of care.
At the local level, in 2025 the organization was able to allocate more than $5.4 million to patients in New Jersey to help cover treatment co-payments and health insurance premiums, underscoring the direct impact of philanthropic support in the fight against blood cancer.
