César DePaço and Deanna Padovani-DePaço attended the gala marking the 20th anniversary of the International Club of Portugal, held on 30 October at the Sheraton hotel in Lisbon before several hundred guests.
Founded two decades ago and chaired by Manuel Ramalho, the club brings businesspeople, politicians, diplomats, academics and cultural figures to the same table. Over those years it has held more than 400 gatherings, mostly debate luncheons, which have become a forum for discussion and contact across different outlooks and nationalities.
In its report on the anniversary, the Portuguese daily Diário de Notícias names the DePaço Foundation among the organisations supporting the club, alongside other sponsors that, the newspaper writes, see value in backing an organisation of this kind.
The gala featured a film-themed musical programme performed by the Lisbon Film Orchestra, and was attended by representatives of national institutions, the diplomatic corps and the business community.
